About Me

Who I Am:

My name is Ann Kelly. I am a fully qualified Professional Counsellor/Therapist in Loughrea. My role as a Counsellor is to facilitate people to face challenges in their lives. I offer a safe place for people to talk about their feelings and anything that is bothering them. When people can talk about what is on their minds, they can work out how to actually deal with it. We all have the power to change our lives for the better. I work closely with my clients so they can develop the tools to deal with whatever comes their way.

Ann Kelly, Cara Counselling.

Why go to a Counsellor/Therapist:

Everybody deserves the opportunity to live their best life. Nobody should feel judged or anxious about how they are feeling. Counselling allows people to explore their feelings and face their challenges. It can also help to tap into the inner power many of us don’t even know is there. Not every day can be great and we cannot control what happens to us. What we can control is how we react to situations. My role as a Therapist is to facilitate people in taking control.

I have helped many people in my career and I hope to facilitate many more to make the most of their lives, regardless of their personal situation when they come to see me. Getting to see the difference in people first-hand after coming to counselling gives me great joy. Seeing people take control of their lives and work towards being the happy, healthy people they always wanted to be, drives my sense of purpose. Contact Me today and we can work together to achieve the happiness you deserve in life.

Help To Change and Grow:

You may have noticed that the logo for this website is a butterfly. The ethos behind my work is founded in a simple but powerful belief, although it may sound cliché. Not only is change possible but life can be beautiful when we learn to cope with our thoughts, feelings and emotions.

A butterfly is a shining example of progress and new starts. It goes through a makeover from caterpillar to butterfly through several stages of development. It is an example of what can happen with change and the amazing successes we can accomplish when we trust ourselves. We have an in-built mechanism to listen to our gut feeling, to trust it and go with our instincts, to deal with what is going on for us. Like the butterfly, we are capable of shedding the layers we don’t need, to eventually live the life we want. Change doesn’t happen overnight and can take time just as a caterpillar takes time to become a beautiful butterfly.
